It all starts with Creative THINKING!
Rebecca Stees, Director
ARt YoWZa is located in a charming carriage house studio in the Gold Coast of Alameda, California.
offers an exciting visual arts program that supports the development of new creative skills. We empower kids and adults to think and use their imaginations. The nurturing environment encourages unique self-expression and self-esteem. The small class size, individualized attention, stimulating environment, and beautiful setting make it possible for every learner to blossom. We value high quality art, friendship and fun.
has been joyously teaching art to kids, teens and adults for 23 years. Since moving to Alameda in 2003, in addition to starting ART YOWZA (Camps for Kids & Classes for Adults), she’s taught after school through the Alameda Education Foundation at the following schools: Bay Farm, Edison, Franklin, Otis and Paden. Rebecca celebrated completing a dynamic mural with 4th grade students at Miller School in the Spring of 2004 and was the Artist-In Residence at Earhart School 2005-2006.
Rebecca adds art and color to our community by volunteering at ARTS-4-AUSD, The Frank Bette Center, The Earhart and Lum School Art Docent Programs, Girls Inc., and Miller School. New ARt YoWZa student artwork can be seen every month at the Starbucks on Park St. and at the Starbucks on Southshore as part of First Fridays in Alameda.
Rebecca is a graduate of Webster University and studied at Parsons School of Design and the San Francisco Art Institute. Her artwork is on a world tour.
